beets!
October 31, 2009
They are sweet, colourful and full of flavour. Our organic, locally grown red , gold and chioggia beets are a classic winter vegetable. We like to think that they bring some colour to the cool, dark nights of fall and winter in BC. Our baby beets are sold out for the season, but new sprouts will be here come summer. Until then, our local + organic bulk beets are available for you to enjoy.
season for squash
October 31, 2009
Squash makes for a great fall harvest and winter storage vegetable. With spring just around the corner, many varieties of local squash are bought out for the season. We still have a great red kuri squash from Cawston, and flavourful kabocha squash from Delta. Get it now before it is gone for the summer!
sunny days

The crisp, nutty flavour of the sunchoke makes it a unique root vegetable that goes great in a savory stew, a creamy root vegetable gratin, with a salad or all by itself. Notch Hill Organics in Sorrento is mighty fond of their sunchokes, and so are we. We hope that they become a favorite of yours as well.
fragrant fruits of harvest
October 31, 2009
Quince has returned for the fall and winter! This fragrant fruit of the fall season is a favorite of chefs and home cooks. With the first frost of the year come and gone, the quince harvest in Kelowna produced a bounty of bright yellow fruit this year. Be sure to order yours before this popular fruit runs out.
