Who We Are

who_we_are_veg_rowsbiovia is a Vancouver-based wholesale distributor specializing in local + organic produce including fruit, vegetables, herbs, micro and leafy field greens and eggs. We deliver to the foodservice industry throughout the Vancouver, sea to sky corridor and Whistler regions. We place the highest priority on purchasing locally.

With an enthusiastic passion for seasonal organics and a desire to support the growth of the local food community, biovia got started in 2003. biovia has since grown into a dedicated team, equipped with a solid respect and understanding for the art of farming, extensive familiarity with the foodservice industry and a growing number of committed grower and restaurant relationships.

Who we work with

who_we_are_orchardChefs: biovia distributes these local + organic ingredients to the foodservice industry in Vancouver, sea to sky corridor and Whistler areas. The foodservice industry includes: cafés, restaurants, caterers, resorts, fly-in lodges, hotels, and independent chefs.

Growers: biovia purchases local + organic products from growers throughout Vancouver Island, Pemberton, Vancouver’s Lower Mainland, Fraser Canyon, the Okanagan, Shuswap and Columbia regions.

Why we do it

who_we_are_globebiovia is passionate about local + organic agriculture and its role in respecting and preserving our natural world. By providing delicious and sustainable alternatives to the foodservice industry, we support strong local economies, biodiversity in food production, and more organic farms. It is biovia’s first priority to increase the availability and accessibility of high quality local + organic products to the restaurant industry.

How we do it

who_we_are_truckbiovia has a 5,200 ft² warehouse with dry storage, separate vegetable and fruit coolers, and a walk-in freezer. We are located 10 minutes from Vancouver’s downtown core. Growers deliver products to our warehouse. biovia then distributes these ingredients to chefs with our refrigerated 4-ton truck, on a regular delivery schedule.
